For the past 8 years I have been doing what most people only dream about: living out of a suitcase, working from my laptop, and exploring the world one country at a time. I have visited 40 countries across 5 continents and I genuinely cannot imagine living any other way.
I started Sunsets Abroad to document the journey and show you that this kind of life is not as out of reach as it might seem. Whether you are dreaming of your first solo trip, a year abroad, or building a location-independent career, you are in the right place.

From $15K in Debt to Living the Dream
I spent the last 8 years travelling the world and here is the kicker: I have only worked for 4 of those years. I started out with a Working Holiday Visa that allowed me to pay off $15K in debt while exploring Australia. Along the way I taught myself the skills I needed to work online, and now I cannot imagine living any other way.
Travelling has shown me that life does not have to be about following the traditional path. It is about finding what makes you happy and chasing it relentlessly. If you have ever felt that same itch, that there is more to life than what society tells us, then you are in the right place.

I have a degree in Athletic Training which means yes, I have skinned and dissected a human body. Now I work in marketing. Life is wild.
I am a huge cat lover. Like, obsessed. I have my own baby boy named Milo and he has been taken care of by my brother ever since I started travelling.
I have taken hundreds of flights and something still goes wrong 90% of the time. My friends are fully convinced I am cursed. I am starting to agree.
My airport outfit is non-negotiable: leggings, my heaviest shoes, a tank, a sweater and a jacket. Every. Single. Time.
After 3 years in Australia I became a full coffee snob. I can usually tell if a coffee is going to be good based on how it feels in my hand and what colour it is.
I hate showering. I mean, I like it. But I do not like it. I am not a take a shower every day kind of girl. I cannot explain it and I have fully accepted this about myself.
My most used travel apps are Booking.com and my budget tracker. Yes I track every single expense. No I do not always stick to the budget.
My mum came to the USA as a refugee. That shaped a lot of who I am today.
I once had a job at a company that was scamming people. When I found out and got fired for threatening to sue, I ended up in marketing. Best accidental career move ever.
